But firstly to be stressfully observed and admired as I established it modestly, through Modesty, Virtue and Holiness, is a Modest Code to be instituted into society by the abstinence from all intoxicating liquors and all drugs of every kind. It will be instituted into society and be established as the Modest Code of Perfection morally firstly, and thence, a Spiritual awakening! It is no question about it! Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil!

The eight hundred and eighty thousand dollars, what Uncle Sam received as revenue or as federal tax off of tobacco that was used in Atlantic City at this certain time and all of MY followers who abstain from those things have saved, not the federal tax alone, but they have saved the grand total - the maximum of what was spent for Uncle Sam to receive the twenty percent federal taxes as mentioned; the eight hundred and eighty thousand dollars! "Because of graft and greed promulgated and propagated, emphasized and advocated by the teachers, the leaders and the representatives in every field of activity - seeking gifts and presents, trying to get something for nothing - our whole civilization is corrupt, contaminated with graft and with greed until they are trying to even bribe the chief executives of our land and country!
"So then I say, if you MY fellow citizens, hearers and friends, from now henceforth, will learn to hate gifts and take the Bible for it if you please, if you will learn to actually hate gifts and hate presents and hate tipping and hate soliciting and hate begging, for all of these habits of men lead them down to perdition - to destruction and even to the wrath of GOD to come upon the earth in the name of the cosmic forces of nature to destroy the abomination of the wickedness of men!" - December 21.1949 A.D.F.D.

"Then I want to say in short here this afternoon, if any person or persons come in your midst seeking donations, love offerings, contributions or any gift or present or tip or any such thing as that, if they do not stop it, drive them out of your presence! We shall not tolerate begging in these audiences! Not a true follower of Mine would take up a collection! I have never taken up a collection and I dare anyone else to come around ME asking for anything more or less than a position! If you need a position, you can come and get it! We have a free employment service and will give you employment free!
"If any person comes around holding their hand out saying, 'Put something in my hand,' drive them out of your presence! If you give them anything, you are selling your fellowship you have with ME, MY Spirit and MY Mind and you are not of ME! I want this distinctly understood!
"For the last fifty years, traveling all over this country preaching the Gospel without money and without price, I have not taken up a collection! I have not yet done any soliciting, borrowing or begging and I do not want anyone around ME who will do it! We take in people and we feed them and clothe them gratis, those who are in the need of help, and we get them positions to lift up a standard of a real decent and respectable citizenry, but those who come around seeking something for nothing, they are not worthy of MY PRESENCE! Aren't you glad!
"As I say, I stress it implicitly and emphatically, that not a true follower of MINE would do such a thing, neither do I tolerate any other person or persons doing it In and around these audiences where I gather the people together to purge them of such vice and such crimes, because that is what it is. Begging and soliciting are the vices of men of dishonest traits, dishonest tendencies, dishonest desires; therefore, I say, a true follower of MINE will not do those things and if anyone wishes to give you anything, let them give you a job, a position. I AM raising up an honest people in the land! Something like one told ME of a very recent date, some place where they were working, had been working with the people several years, they gave them a fifty dollar Christmas present. If you receive a salary and you are able-bodied and physically fit to earn that salary, you should get just what you are worth and not be robbed out of it weekly and try to give you something on Christmas to deceive you.
"Tips are as bribes! Tip taking and tip giving, this custom is the foundation of bribing the officials of our city and of our state and of our country, trying to bribe them to get them to do something for you. But aside from all of that thought within, you desire to be purged from all of the hereditive tendencies of graft and greed, of selfishness, of dishonesty and of incompetence trying to get something for nothing.
"You desire to be purged of all of such falsity, for I AM creating a Righteous people in the land! I AM creating an Honest people in the land and they shall he the people of tomorrow, if not today." - January 5, 1944 A.D.F.D.
